Bluewater Flag Football Celebrates Hamilton Ti-Cats Coach of the Week: Kate Brandon

ree

In a heartwarming recognition of a truly dedicated individual, we're delighted to announce that Kate Brandon, the driving force behind Bluewater Flag Football, has been named Coach of the Week by the Hamilton Ti-Cats. Kate's journey is a testament to the power of passion and the impact one person can have on a community.

From the humble beginnings of playing football with neighbourhood boys, Kate's love for football was ignited at an early age. She carried this passion forward, dabbling in high school ball and eventually finding her place at Laurier University, where she was part of their Women's Flag League in the OWIFA Organization.

Kate's journey didn't stop there. Driven by an insatiable passion for sports, she ventured into the world of rugby, first at Syracuse University in Upstate NY and later with the Ayr Rugby Club in Scotland. Her experiences molded her into a well-rounded athlete with a deep appreciation for the spirit of the game.

Returning to her hometown of Sarnia, Kate recognized a gap – the absence of a flag football organization. Thus, Bluewater Flag Football was born. Kate's vision was clear: she wanted to provide young athletes with the chance to experience the joys of the game she cherished.

Since its inception, Bluewater Flag Football has flourished, thanks to Kate's and her teams unwavering dedication. Her delight is evident as she sees an increasing number of girls and boys sign up, eager to embrace the sport she loves. Kate holds the hope that an all-girls team will someday flourish in the area, a testament to her vision for an inclusive and empowering future.

With heartfelt gratitude, Kate acknowledges everyone who's supported her along the way, turning her dream into reality. She remains humble, despite the recognition, knowing that the true reward lies in the impact she's making in the lives of these young athletes.

Kate Brandon – a beacon of inspiration, a coach, and a believer in the power of sports to shape lives. Her story teaches us that it's not about personal glory, but about empowering others to step onto the field of life with confidence and determination.

Warmest congratulations, Kate – you're paving the path for big things!
